Yonif 203/AK’S Training Development Strategy in Improving Soldier Professionalism Carrying Out Very Very Important Person Securty in The Jakarta Area

Abstract

Securing Very Very Important Persons (VVIP) in the Capital City area is a strategic task of the Indonesian Army, especially for Yonif 203/AK, which requires a high level of professionalism and operational readiness. The background of this study focuses on the importance of training and exercise strategies to withstand complex VVIP security defenses, including conventional and non-conventional threats such as cyber attacks and drone technology. This study aims to analyze the VVIP security training and exercise strategies implemented by Yonif 203/AK and identify the obstacles that arise. Using qualitative descriptive methods through interviews, observations, and document analysis, this study revealed that although there is a strong commitment to training and exercise, the main obstacles include limited budget, facilities and infrastructure, and training time. Based on the SWOT analysis theory, namely strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, internal strengths such as an effective mentoring system and creativity in the use of resources can be optimized to overcome existing weaknesses. This study concludes that increasing the professionalism of soldiers can be achieved through the development of joint training programs with related agencies, the application of simulation technology such as Virtual Reality, and the implementation of a structured evaluation system. Key recommendations include the allocation of a dedicated budget, increased cross-agency collaboration program to ensure continued availability of VVIP security training
